In 2005 a remarkable journey began with the development of two animated characters spreading the road safety message to primary schools across Manchester. The ‘Step Outside’ pedestrian training scheme (developed with Manchester City Council’s Road Safety Team) proved such a success as an interactive CD-Rom, and winner of a Big Chip Award in 2006 that further resources soon followed. In 2009 the videos, games, teachers’ lesson plans and activities were redeveloped for the web, and in 2010 a brand new Flash website was designed. Today the togo and nogo website now boasts a resource for every School Year from 1 to 11.
